With the Transfer Initiative F.A.S.T. (Research.Application.Scaling.Transfer), the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) promotes nationwide transfer hubs in key future technologies. One of the funding priorities is Artificial Intelligence, whose transfer from research to practical application is to be specifically accelerated.

The transfer hubs are to serve as central contact points to network research institutions, companies, start-ups, and other practice partners. The goal is to transfer scientific findings more quickly into marketable products, innovative services, and concrete applications, as well as to sustainably strengthen the transfer of knowledge between research and business.

Individual and joint projects by research and practice partners are eligible to apply. Concepts that organize nationwide technology transfer, build cooperations, and make innovations scalable, especially in the field of AI, are funded.

Applications for the Transfer Initiative F.A.S.T. can be submitted until August 31, 2026 .
